Books in 2018

Hello everyone and holiday greetings to all of you!

It's that time of the year where I share my list of books read, to be joyous and to be disappointed, sadly. Earlier I'd listed books in the year of 2017. This year hasn't been a remarkable one with respect to novel reading. Following are the books I read in 2018:
  1. Blade
  2. Still Alice
  3. The girl who played with fire
  4. The girl who kicked the hornet's nest
  5. Disobedience 
  6. Boardwalk Empire - the birth, high times and corruption of Atlantic city
  7. The Girl on the train

I'm of-course disappointed with the number of books read this year and with the content I'd read in these books. I didn't really enjoy these books save one or two. I wish to improve on both these in the upcoming year.

Inferno - worth a read?

After a sabbatical, I returned to my maneuver of losing myself into novel(s). This time, I picked the much talked and rated as one of the best sellers of year 2013, Inferno by Dan Brown. The novel is 5 th by author. I missed The Lost Symbol , shall get it soon though. Without losing your attention, I will take you through my experience of it. If you have read other works of Brown, then you would be familiar of his art of gluing you with small intricacies of art and designs. He never refrains from going into the minutest detail of culture,  history, and of course architecture. If you had enjoyed his previous books, this is definitely a go-go for you then. Should have kept pen and paper

I was running around on Friday, June 21, beginning of summer solstice. I was perspiring by the time I got hold of things from cafeteria. I had a check-list for Friday, after an hour or so quickly walked down athletics department to empty my locker rom. The deadline was June 30 as the session starts in July end or something, until then all the lockers need to be emptied.  I was in rush, to get back to my seat to complete the week. In this hurry I saw 2004 Nobel Prize winner. I had had seen him few times earlier on-campus, in a seminar or crossing streets. This time I wanted to speak with him, just for a conversation, have his autograph. I stopped, thought multiple times and the process got stuck. He was holding a folder with multiple pages, wearing suit-tie in black and white color. Inevitably I went ahead and said "excuse me". Still unconquerable!

Paris , the international capital of style, land where every lover would like to take his/her heart.  Pss! it was easy to trick you. Paris is also the destination for one of the heavily charged games of the year. Mightiest game, Rolland Garros, commonly known as The French Open. It has been the most exhilarating events on Tennis calendar. Not because of its red colored soil, but due to its intense collision between charismatic players, thick air of tension, endless energy, unlimited enthusiasm and the eternal greed to win. French Open is considered to be most physically grueling of all the tennis games. I am writing this post too late after French Open finale between Djoker and Nadal. Rafa defeated 2013's Wimbledon champ in semi finals, winning all the sets; announcing his opponents not to enter his realm.
