The windy city

Hello All,

This is yet another post on my travel. Perhaps, I should change my blog to a travelogue.
First, it's been a long long break I took from writing, not that I've no more interest to write, or have been running away to tailor my thoughts. Like many out there, and as always, things don't fall onto place at the time you can gather them up. By the time you start collecting, you either lose your senses, or motivation starts backing off. Might sound like an excuse, but it is the truth, indeed.
Like that, I sway away all the times, into one or the idea and thus, face an insurmountable challenge to jab down the keys. Hopefully I would not drown this time.

Yummiest Pizza
Memorial day, day which revers the fallen in United States. A long weekend. Weather at its peak bloom, and pleasantness. I have had an another shot to travel, with a friend of mine and destination chosen for this vacation was Chicago. Chicago is infamous for its cold, especially the cold winds. Not interested to test myself in its inclement weather, I visited this beautiful city during this time.
Chicago has its own taste, yes, I'm speaking of food here. Incredible one. The indigenous deep dish Pizza, pizza by far the best one I've had. They are not loaded with cheese you would find in the regular ones. They are scrumptious with each ingredient having its unique blend.
If you are a popcorn addict, Garret's popcorn are specifically born for you. Couple of different smacks, which would leave you finger licking all the time.

View from 103rd Floor
If not a foodie, Chicago has a lot to offer. Chicago is equipped with an enthralling skyline. A bus tour would take through those most elegant sky scrappers, pouring in details about how, for whom and when these beautiful buildings were built keeping in mind the severe winds, cold. There also is the world's first tallest sky ripping tower, Sears Tower, now called as The Willis Tower, or the Ledge, which offers you a panoramic view from 103rd floor. If time, and weather allows you, do visit this exquisite and famous tourist destination. I would spare the details about its queue, the fastest elevator on to you to find out.

For people who find awing at these structures dull, and are claustrophobic, Chicago has plenty of parks, avenues for you to visit. The Birmingham fountain, the cloud gate among many are worth visiting, and enjoying your time.
Like many big and major cities, Chicago is established near water body, Michigan Lake. This lake offers a very impressive lake shore drive. You can walk down this drive, and adore view, lost in yourself with winds. If weather is at its best, you'd be seeing rich chaps in their yacht, exorbitant boats, many of these boats would be lined near pier. At night, along the lake side, you could see mesmerizing, and glittering Chicago skyline.
By traveling all these places, you would find river right in the middle of city. This river flows in opposite direction, west to east. Lined on both sides of this river are spectacular sky lines, union station, hotels, radio station, shopping centers.
Chicago had seen its worse during the Great Chicago Fire. Yet city revived, and continued to thrive in every direction: Media, Art, Business, Food, Entrepreneurship, Academics, Sports and Entertainment.

This has been one of the best places I've traveled. Ever I get an another opportunity to pay a visit to Chicago, I shall accept it without any further thoughts.

Bon Voyage!

PS: I did hang up after first para of the blog. Sigh.
