The loss of Titans: Rafa, Fedex and Djokovic

This post is in reference with the latest Wimbledon-13's most astonishing results of all time. No doubt Sir Murray has outplayed champions of all time and can bask in for the ridiculous (as said by him) sum of 1.6 Million pounds till US Open. However, it is pretty hard to gulp down This fact for people like me who are an ardent follower of Rafa, Fedex and Djokovic.

I was highly disappointed over defeat of these 3 legendary players on grass court. Wimbledon started with Rafa's lost in straight-sets to Belgian's Steve Darcis on Day-1. Let me put forth some facts here, Steve Darcis crushed fifth seeded champion; one who holds 12 Grand slams in his name. The most recent one was French Open, Rolland Garros, Paris. Nadal sailed through tennis history and has 8 wins in one Slam. I can go on and on in admiration of Rafa's success stories, but my post has no intention of doing so. Rafa had missed training session in Wimbledon which might be one reason for his defeat. He came back after 7 month's injury lay-off, won 7 out of 9 finals he has reached since then. That said, injury cannot be blamed for his worst of all defeat till date.

Moving further, when it is post of Wimbledon, how on Earth can someone miss Swiss tennis Ace, R. Federer? RF's exit in second round at Wimbledon was a great shocker. He lost game to world ranking 116th player Sirgiy S.. Fedex holds 17 Grand slams, is an undisputed Top grass player ever. He has won Wimbledon 6 times and has stayed on #1 rank for 302 weeks, yes you read me 302 weeks it is. It is evident that age has taken toll over him, but Fedex can still deliver and many fans would be patiently waiting for his come back. If not come back he won't let any of his die hard fans down by his performance and his humility. Media is clamoring for his retirement as he is not able to win any of grand slams, as a matter of fact he hasn't clinched any Grand slam past 11 major games but that alone cannot pave path for retirement. Media is questioning him for his legacy and what not. Fedex is regarded as one of the greatest player the game of Tennis has ever produced. He is loaded with an excellent playing style, which is is unparalleled till date. Why thrust upon him the pressure of performance and titles to a legend?

Andy Murray's win wasn't cake walk in finals though, he had triumphed Djokovic which cannot be an easy task. Going back to Australian Open 2012, Djokovic won against Rafa and created history of World's longest game for 5 hours 53 minutes. It is beyond our imagination what amount of endurance Serb had invested to take the Cup away in Australian Open. Serb also has the record of reaching finals in 4 Grand Slams consecutively. Had it not been Murray's perseverance, diligence, home support and knack not to give up, Murray wouldn't have claimed the title. Serb's fatigue was one reason he had said for his defeat. But be it be fatigue or injury or old age, Murray took the title and brought home glory after a span of 77 years.

Rafa has started all over again his physical trainings, Serb might have overcome his weariness,  Fedex doesn't require any of these or does he?
Lets hope that the upcoming US open would be filled with more thrill and would keep fans on their toes for more exciting matches than ever.
